This course is designed to give you a broad introduction into the methods and skills of silk screen printing. Working with paper stencils, drawn acetate positives and photographic images on ready prepared photo screens you will create your own two colour designs onto a t-shirt, a tote bag or create a limited edition of 10 A4 prints on 270gsm acid free fine art paper.
On the first session we will cover all the principles of creating paper stencils, masks, drawn positives, drawing directly to screen and creating photo acetate positives using our scanner and printer.
Then, on the second session we’ll get down to the printing; how to set up the vacuum screen bed, techniques for registration and you will print your two colour designs to a t-shirt, tote bag or a limited edition run art prints.
Suitable for: absolute beginners and people totally new to screen print; artists, designers, hobbyists and anyone interested in print.
What to bring with you: any projects you might be working on, artworks you want to translate into print, photographs you’d like to update and print or anything you like; really, it could be anything from a wall paper sample to a film poster, the limit is your imagination!
We have a great WIFI connection here at The Print Room as well as a super duper A3 WIFI Scanner, Copier & Printer; so bring your laptop, tablet, iPad or iPhone and scan and print images directly to and from your personal devices.
