William Blanchard at The Print Room

Artist Will Blanchard is currently in residency at The Print Room, preparing with Sarah Hardacre for his upcoming show ‘When They Were Gods’ at Proud Camden. The show is Will’s homage to his rock and roll legends and will present a new series of diamond dust screen prints and feature a big party with special guest DJ’s at the gallery on Tuesday 15th July.
William Blanchard describes his work as punk collage and Duchamp Anarchy; using surrealistic humour to juxtapose junk objects in punk fusion. Inspired by pop culture, 60s graphics, and the bright, colourful, immediacy of Punk’s DIY aesthetic, Will’s collages are an amplification of what he calls his ‘first extension of weirdness’; his childhood memories of collecting pieces of junk, recycling objects and creating a museum of artefacts in his bedroom. We’re really excited to have Will, aka Wildcat Will, with us at The Print Room and it’s great fun assisting with preparations for his upcoming show. Until the show opens on the 15th July, we’re keeping this dazzling new diamond dust work under wraps, except for a sneaky peak of preparing the Marc Bolan print on the photos below! In the meantime, check out more of Will Blanchard’s work on his website here  www.williamblanchardart.com and save Tuesday 15th July in your diary for a crazy night of art and rock and roll at Proud Camden!
